Craft Beer Stronghold Shamrock’s Hosts Epic Bottle Share

Since we started the STC Craft Tap Bottle Share program in Sept. 2015, beer enthusiast attendance has steadily increased, with last Tuesday’s being our most well attended.

On Tuesday, Jan. 12, 35 craft beer enthusiasts from around the area gathered at beer stronghold Shamrock’s Pub & Grill to drink, discuss and enjoy some epic beer!

IMG_20160112_192150Owner and beer enthusiasts Kyle Dent spent the evening sipping, talking and sharing beer with other beer loving bottle sharers. Dent was generous enough to break out of a few “big dogs” from his personal cellar to add to the already massive round up of brews. One of these special bottles was 4 Hands’ Volume 3 rye wine aged in Templeton Rye whiskey barrels. This enthusiast is thankful for Dent’s generosity of beer knowledge and hospitality.

Per the norm, our friends at Bombay Wine and Spirits were generous in their donation to this month’s share. On offer from Bombay was a magnum of Anchor’s 2015 Anchor Christmas Ale; Tallgrass’ Wooden Rooster, a barrel aged tripel; Anchorage Brewing Company’s Bitter Monk, a Belgian style double IPA with brett; Stone’s final batch of Sublimely Self Righteous Black IPA, as well as 24 Carrot Golden Ale, Stone’s collab with this year’s home brew winner Juli Goldenberg and Monkey Paw.

IMG_20160106_190920Standout bottles included New Glarus’ 2015 Raspberry Tart, a spontaneously fermented framboise featuring fresh Wisconsin raspberries; Crafted Artisan’s Criminal KLP, a mead made with fresh Key Limes and graham cracker; Excel Brewing Co.’s Black Breath, an Imperial Stout aged in rum barrels; Clown Shoes’ Coffee Pecan Pie Porter and Space Station Middle Finger by 3 Floyds.

Our next bottle share will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 7-10 p.m. at Exit 6 in Cottleville. Stay tuned for some updated info as we may need to require ticketing for this event so we can ensure everyone can have the chance to try everything and take a breather between beers.

Again, a big thanks to this Shamrocks Pub & Grill and Bombay Wine and Spirits for their support!
